Summary[edit]

Description

Ball-and-stick model of an (S,E)-ajoene molecule, C9H14OS3. This model is based on one of two diastereomers found in the crystal structure of TRIMEB·(E)-ajoene·0.5H2O. TRIMEB is heptakis(2,3,6-tri-O-methyl)-β-cyclodextrin, a cyclodextrin host molecule. TRIMEB forms a complex with ajoene and this complex crystallises as a solid inclusion compound. The crystal structure of TRIMEB·(E)-ajoene·0.5H2O was reported in Supramol. Chem. (2004) 16, 395-403 and CSD entry BIFGON.
